About Moet
'Moet' at anchor in the Louisiades, Papua New Guinea
Moet is a Hartley 39 RORC, a New Zealand designed and built yacht.
She was built in 1976 and spent her first 25 years in NZ, passing from owner to owner
and sailing the East Coast of the south and north islands. We bought her in 2000,
when she had been neglected for some time and was in need of care and attention. One
year of hard work later we took her to Fiji (thought the work didnt stop there!).
It was the first ocean crossing for us and also for Moet, and arriving in Suva
was a momentous occasion for us all! 'Moet' is a good strong seagoing boat and a much loved home
for our family.
Since sailing to Fiji we have been to Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea,
New Caledonia, Samoa, Tonga and back to New Zealand and Fiji a couple of times.
You can read about our travels elsewhere on the website.
The Pacific is a whole world and it is easy to get lost spending time
in the hundreds of islands here.
